Special Education Services
Students receiving special education services in Oskaloosa receive individualized educational support based on a continuum of services, providing instruction in the least restrictive environment. We provide individualized services to help meet the academic, social, emotional, behavioral, adaptive behavioral, and physical needs of all students.
All special education programming the Oskaloosa School District is consistent with federal law, the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). IDEA entitles every student to a free and appropriate public education (FAPE) in the least restrictive environment (LRE). To ensure a FAPE, a team of professionals meet annually with the parents of the student to identify the individual educational needs of the student and develop an Individualized Education Program (IEP).
Special Education Service Delivery Model
The Special Education Service Delivery Model for the Oskaloosa Community School District was updated during the spring of 2020 and was approved by the Oskaloosa Board of Directors on July 15, 2020.
