Spotlight on Standards-Based Learning and Reporting in OCSD Week 1

Proficiency scales and I CAN statements displayed on the blackboard in a middle school classroom.

This spotlight will be shared each week in April as students are preparing to take the Iowa Statewide Assessment of Student Progress (ISASP) that requires them to demonstrate what they know and are able to do on the Iowa Core Standards. In the first spotlight, a review of the Vision for Standards-Based Learning and Reporting along with an example from Mrs. Helmon’s room. The photograph shows how she displays proficiency scales and learning targets for transparent communication about what a student needs to know and be able to do.

See the Standards-Based Learning and Reporting portion of the OCSD Website for more information.
